WOW is the only word to describe summer TV. I can't promise that this blog entry will not revolve solely around TV.
1. Let's kick it off with some Bachelorette since the finale is in a few days. How bad did I feel for Ali last episode? Crazy bad. When she was getting ready to head into the slaughter that was going to be her date with Frank, it was like watching someone getting ready to be lethally injected. I am also convinced that no one even gave her a little heads up that something was going on. She was waaaaaay to excited in the interviewed right before the date. And you know it was because she was wearing the same thing. How pissed off do you think she was at some of the production staff or Chris Harrison for that matter. You'd think that after 2 seasons on the show she has become friendly with these people since she is with them all day. And they just let her walk into that blind. I'd be pissed.
Anyhow the safe money is on Roberto monday night. If there were odds, I'd bet that they swayed when Ali started to mention how he was from Cape Cod and her family is from Mass. But I think thats just stuff said on camera, prompted by the producers, to keep it suspenseful.
More importantly, how about the Bachelor Pad show coming out in 2 weeks? I think it has potential to be awesome. Kind of like Real World/ Road Rules Challenge but on ABC. So I guess there will be less shenanigans being shown. Maybe this should be on cable or HBO. When is a reality show gonna make the leap to HBO/MAX/Showtime? The cursing and accidental nudity would make the ratings go through the roof.
2. Real World New Orleans 2. Another WOW from me. This show is out of the gate and running like I've never seen a Real World. Everything is clicking on all cylinders. Knight could be top 5 best roommate of all time. His humor is on point. With lines like "it will be the best 2 pumps of your life" when referring to having sex with a housemate, he's a home run. Throw in a sluttly roomate, one who blacks out. Wait, lets discuss her attempts to cock-block her friend Suze who came to visit. I have never seen such a display. She basically kicked her out of the house and then another night would not let her get in the cab with them. Then there is the whole Preston-Ryan drama, which will apparently lead to urination on a toothbrush, illnesses and charges being pressed. They have a great house in an awesome location, super bowl weekend must have been awesome, it looked like it. I also guess MTV has ditched the whole job thing after the Cancun debacle. Imagine if they could have just partied in Cancun the whole time..(me with sad dreamy eyes) But i digress. I do not see anyone really good for challenges here. Knight has 2 bad shoulders from hockey, so he's probably out. Maybe Eric. He get no air time as does Sahar and Ashley. Are they even on the show? If they can keep up this pace, New Orleans 2 could go down as on of the best Real Worlds.
3. Big Brother. Started watching last summer and I love it. I know its been around a while but it's new for me. Also, I kind of know one of this season's contestants.....Enzo, aka "Meow Meow". I won't claim to know anything about him or that i am rooting for him. His wife is best friends with a good friend of mine and he has been at some parties i've been at. I do like his brigade alliance. Secret alliances are fun. People should have them in real life. Like in the office you could be in a secret alliance with a secretary, the mail guy, and the girl who makes copies. What would the alliance be for? I'm not sure but you'd have one in case you needed it. I'm thinking of getting my own secret alliance at school, maybe I already have one. You don;t know so watch out.
Back to Big Brother. Rachel can be one of the most annoying people ever. Her stupid laugh is just that, stupid. I also cannot believe the show-mance she got into after like 2 days. I love how everyone secretly feels like he/she is running the game and has everyone doing what they want. The best part of the show is its on 3 times a week plus you can watch them sit around and do nothing from 12am-3am on Showtime 2 (did I just do a free promo). I have checked this out and both mornings after I just thought to myself "why did i waste my time" but I am sure I will tune in again.
4. Wipeout never gets old. I think my favorite part has become the SWEEPER. People falling is fun, enough said.
5. RIP to Captain of the Cornelia Marie, Phil Harris. Phil was a good guy and seemed like a good dad. His 2 sons worked on the boat with him. He suffered a stroke while filming Deadliest Catch on the Discover Channeland died 11 days later. We actually saw him have the stroke. I guess this is the closest we've come to seeing someone die on a reality show.
